Before you launch your Google Ads campaigns, make sure your website is live and that Google can actually read your landing page. This lets you test exactly how Google reviews your landing page.
Open Developer Tools. You can do this by selecting View from your browser’s menu bar, then selecting Developer and Developer Tools.
You can also right-click on your landing page and select Inspect.
In the Chrome Developer Tools panel that opens, select the Network tab.
Here, you’ll find the status of your website in the Network panel.
Untick the box that says Use browser default.
Paste the user-agent string into the Custom field to check the mobile version of your web page.
To check the desktop version of your web page, paste the corresponding desktop user-agent string.
You can find these user-agent strings in the Override User Agent with Chrome DevTools article in the Google Ads Help Center.
After pasting the user-agent strings, refresh your landing page.
Watch the Status column in the Developer Tools panel.
A 200 status means your landing page is working properly.
If there are errors in the network request, you may see 400-series or 500-series status codes. These errors could explain why your ads are disapproved for “Destination Not Working.”
Now you know how to emulate how Google views your landing page and identify rendering or loading issues before you launch.
But making sure your site loads properly is only half the battle.
If your website is working properly when tested this way, you can appeal the disapproval to Google. Once Google reviews your appeal and confirms that the destination is working properly, the error should be removed and your ad may be approved within a few hours.
